JAPANESE BEADWORK EXHIBIT IN NYC

Last night I had fun attending a gallery opening for an exhibit of work by talented Japanese beaders at the Caelum Gallery in Manhattan.  One room was devoted to the loom work of Naomi Sakuma. Here is Naomi Sakuma (right) wearing a lovely loomed necklace of leaves.

Naomi also explores the effect of light on beads with a series of lamps.

The second artist in the exhibit is Yukari Tanaka, who employs crochet and beads in her jewelry.

There were also pieces by a number of international artists accompanying the exhibit.  Here are two examples.

An interesting necklace by Midori Shigematus

Another necklace, but I didn't get the whole name of the artist.

The exhibit is at the Caelum Gallery, 526 West 26th St., Suite 315 until June 14.  If you get a chance to visit, it is definitely worth the time.

Now on to sorting the B&B photos.
