ZIPPITY DO DA FOR MY WRIST

I have been busy with classes and taxes but I recently had time to sit down and finish the zipper and bead embroidered cuff that I started in June in Jeanne Barta Craine's class at Bead and Button.  You can see more of her work at Jeanne's Jewelry.

This was an interesting project for me because a) I had never used zippers in my bead embroidery and b) the cuff is my first improvsational piece.  Jeanne gave us the orginial cuff shape to get us started but immediately encouraged us to embroider outside the lines.  I used some of the items in the class kit, including Melissa Rediger's lampwork button, but soon went shopping at Beyond Beadery for more beads.

Here is a closeup of the bead embroidery.  It was a lot of fun and I enjoyed adding a lot of texture with the zippers and other elements.
